Anti-ME antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ME antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MMP12 gene, which encodes matrix metallopeptidase 12. This protein is known to function in viral immune response and extracellular matrix organization, among other biological roles. The human version of ME has a canonical amino acid length of 470 residues and a protein mass of 54 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells. Other names for this target antigen include HME and MME. Western Blot is the most common application for the ME antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
