Anti-Pro-MCH antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Pro-MCH is a known alias name of the protein pro-melanin concentrating hormone, encoded by the PMCH gene in humans. This 165-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell differentiation and chemical synaptic transmission, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the lateral hypothalamus, also detected in pallidum, neocortex and cerebellum. Other synonyms for Pro-MCH include MCH, MCH, and ppMCH.
