Anti-PLBD2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipase B domain containing 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 589 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of a the Phospholipase B-like protein family, PLBD2 is believed to be a type of phospholipase. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include 76 kDa protein, LAMA-like protein 2, PLB homolog 2, lamina ancestor homolog 2, mannose-6-phosphate protein associated protein p76, and putative phospholipase B-like 2.
