Anti-MFGM antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MFGM is a known alias name of the protein milk fat globule EGF and factor V/VIII domain containing, encoded by the MFGE8 gene in humans. This 387-amino acid residue protein is known to play an important role in the maintenance of intestinal epithelial homeostasis and the promotion of mucosal healing. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles, membrane, and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for MFGM include BA46, BA46, and EDIL1. Western Blot is the most common application for the MFGM antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
