Anti-DEF5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DEF5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DEFA5 gene, which encodes defensin alpha 5. This protein is known to function in the cellular response to lipopolysaccharides and innate immune responses, among other biological roles. The human version of DEF5 has a canonical amino acid length of 94 residues and a protein mass of 10.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the duodenum and small intestine. DEF5 is a member of the Alpha-defensin protein family. Indicated applications for DEF5 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
