Anti-APOLIPOPROTEIN L3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the APOL3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 402 amino acid residues and a mass of 44.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Apolipoprotein L protein family, it is believed to affect the movement of lipids in the cytoplasm or allow the binding of lipids to organelles. Other names for this target antigen include TNF-inducible protein CG12-1 and apolipoprotein L-III. Some APOLIPOPROTEIN L3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
