Anti-DEK antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein DEK proto-oncogene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 375 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. DEK is known to be involved in chromatin organization. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include protein DEK, DEK oncogene (DNA binding), and D6S231E. DEK gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of DEK antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
