Anti-Aggrecan antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene ACAN in humans. The Aggrecan protein has an expected mass of 261.3 kDa, but there are 3 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as AGC1, AGCAN, CSPG1, CSPGCP, aggrecan core protein, and cartilage-specific proteoglycan core protein. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
