Anti-CD258 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CD258 is a known alias name of the protein TNF superfamily member 14, encoded by the TNFSF14 gene in humans. This 240-amino acid residue protein is a reported to be a cytokine that binds to TNFRSF3/LTBR. It is localized to the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the the spleen but also found in the brain. The term HVEML is another synonym for CD258. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for CD258 antibodies.
