Anti-PDGF-b antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PDGF-b is a known alias name of the protein platelet derived growth factor subunit B, encoded by the PDGFB gene in humans. This 241-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. The protein is secreted and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed at high levels in the heart, brain (sustantia nigra), placenta and fetal kidney. Other synonyms for PDGF-b include IBGC5, PDGF-2, and PDGF2. Western Blot is the most common application for the PDGF-b antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
