Anti-OCM antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein oncomodulin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 109 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.2 kDa. A member of the Parvalbumin protein family, OCM is known to have some calmodulin-like activity with respect to enzyme activation and growth regulation. Synonyms for this target antigen include beta parvalbumin, hCG18255, parvalbumin beta, and oncomodulin-1. OCM gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some OCM antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunocytochemistry are also common applications.
