Anti-histatin 3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the HTN3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 51 amino acid residues and a mass of 6.1 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. The histatin 3 protein is a member of the Histatin/statherin protein family. Other names for this target antigen include HTN2, HTN5, PB, basic histidine-rich protein, histatin-4, histatin-5, histatin-6, and HIS2.
