Anti-histatin 1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the HTN1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 57 amino acid residues and a mass of 7 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. The histatin 1 protein is a member of the Histatin/statherin protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Other names for this target antigen include PPB, histidine-rich protein 1, post-PB protein, and HIS1.
