Anti-ASAH2 Antibody Products

Anti-ASAH2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 780 amino acid residues and a mass of 85.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria, Golgi, cell membrane, and is secreted. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in intestine. A member of the Neutral ceramidase protein family, ASAH2 is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway and cytokine-mediated signaling pathways. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation, N-glycosylation, ubiquitination, protein cleavage and phosphorylation.

The ASAH2 marker can be used to identify Ventral Excitatory Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include N-acylsphingosine amidohydrolase (non-lysosomal ceramidase) 2, acylsphingosine deacylase 2, mitochondrial ceramidase, neutral/alkaline ceramidase, non-lysosomal ceramidase, and neutral ceramidase. ASAH2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, zebrafish and chimpanzee species.
