Anti-ARSG antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein arylsulfatase G. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 525 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes. It is found to be widely expressed, with very low expression in the brain, lung, heart and skeletal muscle. A member of the Sulfatase protein family, it is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation and protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include USH4 and ASG.
