Anti-Aquaporin 1 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene AQP1, or 'aquaporin 1 (Colton blood group)' in humans. The 269-amino acid protein is a member of the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1A.8) family. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
