Anti-Translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 40 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TOMM40 in humans. The gene may also be known as Mom35, TOM40, PEREC1, C19orf1, D19S1177E, and mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM40 homolog. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 37.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
