Anti-Sex hormone binding globulin antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SHBG in humans. The gene may also be known as Androgen Binding Protein, ABP, SBP, TEBG, sex steroid-binding protein, and testis-specific androgen-binding protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 43.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
