Anti-PTK antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PTK is a known alias name of the protein protein tyrosine kinase 2 beta, encoded by the PTK2B gene in humans. This 1009-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in GTPase activation and adaptive immune responses, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the brain, with highest levels in amygdala and hippocampus. Other synonyms for PTK include CADTK, CAKB, and FADK2. Western Blot is the most common application for the PTK antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
