Anti-PITRM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pitrilysin metallopeptidase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1037 amino acid residues and a mass of 117.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Peptidase M16 protein family, it is known to be involved with proteolysis. Synonyms for this target antigen include PreP, SCAR30, presequence protease, mitochondrial, PreP peptidasome, metalloprotease 1 (pitrilysin family), and MP1.
