Anti-MAI antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MAI antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the GSTZ1 gene, which encodes glutathione S-transferase zeta 1. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of MAI has a canonical amino acid length of 216 residues and a protein mass of 24.2 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include GSTZ1-1, MAAI, and MAAID. Indicated applications for MAI antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
