Anti-VEGF-D antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target VEGF-D is a known alias name of the protein vascular endothelial growth factor D, encoded by the VEGFD gene in humans. This 354-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in neuronal differentiation and the regulation of angiogenesis, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features cleaved and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the lung, heart, small intestine and fetal lung, and at lower levels in skeletal muscle, colon, and pancreas. Other synonyms for VEGF-D include FIGF and c-fos induced growth factor (vascular endothelial growth factor D). Western Blot is the most common application for the VEGF-D antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
