Anti-DNAI4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein dynein axonemal intermediate chain 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 848 amino acid residues and a mass of 94.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. DNAI4 is known to play an important role in the assembly of axonemal dynein complex, thereby playing a role in ciliary motility. Synonyms for this target antigen include WD repeat-containing protein 78, dynein intermediate chain 4, axonemal, and WD repeat domain 78. DNAI4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
