Anti-dynein light chain Tctex-type 2B antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DYNLT2B gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 142 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.1 kDa. A member of the Dynein light chain Tctex-type protein family, it is known to act as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 2 complex (dynein-2 complex), a motor protein complex that drives the movement of cargos along microtubules within cilia and flagella in concert with the intraflagellar transport (IFT) system. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Short-rib thoracic dysplasia 17 with or without polydactyly. Other names for this target antigen include Tctex1 domain containing 2, tctex1 domain-containing protein 2, and dynein light chain Tctex-type protein 2B. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
