Anti-HYLS1 centriolar and ciliogenesis associated antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the HYLS1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the HYLS1 protein family, it is reported to play a role in ciliogenesis. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Hydrolethalus syndrome. Other names for this target antigen include hydrolethalus syndrome 1, hydrolethalus syndrome protein 1, and centriolar and ciliogenesis-associated protein HYLS1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
