Anti-actin related protein 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the ACTR3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 418 amino acid residues and a mass of 47.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. A member of the Actin protein family, it is reported to be an atp-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex, a multiprotein complex that mediates actin polymerization upon stimulation by nucleation-promoting factor (NPF). Other names for this target antigen include ARP3 actin related protein 3 homolog, actin-like protein 3, and ARP3. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
