Anti-DNAAF6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein dynein axonemal assembly factor 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 214 amino acid residues and a mass of 24.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, small intestine, prostate, adrenal gland, spleen, lung, bladder, breast and ovary. A member of the PIH1 protein family, DNAAF6 is reported to play a role in cytoplasmic pre-assembly of axonemal dynein. The DNAAF6 gene has been associated with the disease, Ciliary dyskinesia. Synonyms for this target antigen include PIH1 domain-containing protein 3, dynein assembly factor 6, axonemal, protein PIH1D3, sarcoma antigen NY-SAR-97, and PIH1 domain containing 3. DNAAF6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
