Anti-solute carrier family 66 member 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the SLC66A2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 271 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is noted to be involved in the metabolism of lipids. Other names for this target antigen include PQ loop repeat containing 1 and PQ-loop repeat-containing protein 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
