Anti-MRPL58 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein L58. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 206 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Prokaryotic/mitochondrial release factor protein family, MRPL58 is known to be an important peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase component of the mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit. Synonyms for this target antigen include DS1, ICT1, peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase ICT1, mitochondrial, 39S ribosomal protein L58, mitochondrial, and DS-1. MRPL58 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of MRPL58 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
