Anti-synaptotagmin like 4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the SYTL4 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 671 amino acid residues and a mass of 76 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles and cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. The synaptotagmin like 4 protein is involved with exocytosis and intracellular protein transport, among other functions. Other names for this target antigen include exophilin-2, granuphilin-a, and synaptotagmin-like protein 4.
