Anti-PRICKLE1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein prickle planar cell polarity protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 831 amino acid residues and a mass of 94.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is reported be expressed at highest levels in placenta and at lower levels in the lung, liver, kidney and pancreas. A member of a the Prickle / espinas / testin protein family, PRICKLE1 is reported to be involved in planar cell polarity pathway that controls convergent extension during gastrulation and neural tube closure. Synonyms for this target antigen include REST (RE-1 silencing transcription factor)/NRSF (neuron-restrictive silencer factor)-interacting LIM domain protein, REST/NRSF interacting LIM domain protein, REST/NRSF-interacting LIM domain protein 1, and prickle-like protein 1.
