Anti-NPC1 like 1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NPC1 like 1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NPC1L1 gene, which encodes NPC1 like intracellular cholesterol transporter 1. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of NPC1 like 1 has a canonical amino acid length of 1359 residues and a protein mass of 148.7 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine, liver, duodenum, and appendix.
