Anti-HSDL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase like 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 330 amino acid residues and a mass of 37 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the testis and ovary. It is a member of the Short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include short chain dehydrogenase/reductase family 12C member 3, steroid dehydrogenase-like protein, and inactive hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like protein 1. HSDL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some HSDL1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
