Anti-GP88 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GP88 is a known alias name of the protein granulin precursor, encoded by the GRN gene in humans. This 593-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a secreted protein that acts as a key regulator of lysosomal function and as a growth factor involved in inflammation, wound healing and cell proliferation. It is localized to the lysosomes and is secreted of the cell and features cleaved and glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for GP88 include CLN11 and GEP. Western Blot is the most common application for the GP88 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
