Anti-SCART1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein scavenger receptor family member expressed on T cells 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1027 amino acid residues and a mass of 108.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the tonsil, spleen, and lymph node. SCART1 is believed to play a role in the immune system, perhaps as a co-receptor on alphabeta and gammadelta T-cells. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include CD163c-alpha, scavenger receptor protein family member, and scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domain-containing protein SCART1.
