Anti-MRPL57 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein L57. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 102 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mL63 protein family, MRPL57 is known to be involved with mitochondrial translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include hMRP63, mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit protein mL63, mitochondrial ribosomal protein 63, mitochondrial ribosomal protein bMRP63, and ribosomal protein 63, mitochondrial. MRPL57 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunofluorescence is the most common application for the MRPL57 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
