Anti-ING5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein inhibitor of growth family member 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 240 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and chromosomes. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the ING protein family, ING5 is a known component of the HBO1 complex, which specifically mediates acetylation of histone H3 at 'Lys-14' (H3K14ac) and, to a lower extent, acetylation of histone H4. Synonyms for this target antigen include inhibitor of growth protein 5.
