Anti-MRPL55 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein L55. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 128 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mL55 protein family, MRPL55 is known to be involved with mitochondrial translation and protein translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include L55mt, mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit protein bL31m, mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit protein mL55, and 39S ribosomal protein L55, mitochondrial. MRPL55 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MRPL55 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
