Anti-PDGF2 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The PDGF2 antigen is another term for the human protein platelet derived growth factor subunit B, encoded by the PDGFB gene. The protein is reported to be a growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 241 residues and a mass of 27.3 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein and it is notably expressed at high levels in the heart, brain (sustantia nigra), placenta and fetal kidney. The PDGF2 protein is a member of the PDGF/VEGF growth factor protein family. Other alias names for PDGF2 include IBGC5.
