Anti-ALOXE3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein arachidonate lipoxygenase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 711 amino acid residues and a mass of 80.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the skin. A member of the Lipoxygenase protein family, ALOXE3 is known to be involved with fat cell differentiation and the metabolism of lipids. The ALOXE3 gene has been associated with the disease, Ichthyosis. Synonyms for this target antigen include Epidermal lipoxygenase-3, Lamellar ichthyosis 5, e-LOX-3, epidermal LOX-3, epidermal lipoxygenase, and hydroperoxide isomerase ALOXE3. ALOXE3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of ALOXE3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
