Anti-GUCA2A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein guanylate cyclase activator 2A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 115 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.4 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in ileum and colon. A member of the Guanylin protein family, GUCA2A is reported to be an endogenous activator of intestinal guanylate cyclase. Synonyms for this target antigen include GUCA2, STARA, guanylin, guanylate cyclase activator 2A (guanylin 2, intestinal, heat-stable), guanylate cyclase-activating protein 1, and GCAP-I. GUCA2A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of GUCA2A antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
