Anti-PLUNC antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PLUNC is a known alias name of the protein BPI fold containing family A member 1, encoded by the BPIFA1 gene in humans. This 256-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a lipid-binding protein, which shows high specificity for the surfactant phospholipid dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC). The protein is secreted and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the lung, upper airways and nasopharyngeal regions, including trachea and nasal epithelium. Other synonyms for PLUNC include LUNX and NASG. Indicated applications for PLUNC antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
