Anti-ADH6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein alcohol dehydrogenase 6 (class V). In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 368 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the rectum, liver, gallbladder, duodenum, and colon. A member of the Zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase protein family, ADH6 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Synonyms for this target antigen include alcohol dehydrogenase 6, aldehyde reductase, and ADH-5. ADH6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the ADH6 antibodies listed below. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
