Anti-p1-a antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the p1-a antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ZNF185 gene, which encodes zinc finger protein 185 with LIM domain. This protein is suspected to be involved in the regulation of cellular proliferation and/or differentiation. The human version of p1-a has a canonical amino acid length of 689 residues and a protein mass of 73.5 kilodaltons, although 9 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the skin, seminal vesicle, and epididymis. Other names for this target antigen include SCELL, zinc finger protein 185, and P1-A.
