Anti-MFM2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MFM2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CRYAB gene, which encodes crystallin alpha B. This protein is known to function in eye development and muscle organ development, among other biological roles. The human version of MFM2 has a canonical amino acid length of 175 residues and a protein mass of 20.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, lysosomes, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate and cerebellum. Other names for this target antigen include CMD1II, CRYA2, and CTPP2. A number of MFM2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
