Mung Bean Nuclease

Mung Bean Nuclease, is an endonuclease that preferentially cleaves single-stranded DNA and RNA. Thus it will not digest DNA-DNA, DNA-RNA, and RNA-RNA duplexes. Cleavage products of mung bean nuclease are 5’-phosphoryl mono- and oligonucleotides. This nuclease is used in removal of single-strand overhangs, DNA blunting, transcriptional mapping, and selective degradation of single-stranded nucleotides. Mung bean nuclease is zinc dependent and is inactivated by EDTA or SDS.
