Real-time PCR, free storage of samples for future testing

Technical Service

Transnetyx assay design specialists provide help with probe designs as well as sequencing PCR products to develop an assay at no cost to the lab.

Delivery

The results can be found in the personal account as well as delivered via email in PDF and Excel formats.

Results Summary

After sending the material (2 mm tail biopsy) of the transgenic mice (Aldh1l1::Cre-ERT2 x C57BL/6/J breeding), in 72 hours we receive a list of mice who are carriers and noncarriers of Cre recombinase.

Summary

The Good

Fast (24 or 72 hours) and accurate genotyping services as well as a great customer support team.

The Bad

The price depends on the number of probes associated with a specific strain and it can be quite expensive when working with triple transgenic mouse lines.

The Bottom Line

Our lab is using Transnetyx services for the last 5 years and always receives accurate, reliable, and reproducible results. The company provided us flat rate per mouse, even when we have multiple probes associated with the mouse strain. The company also provides free trial (25 free samples) to get started with the automated genotyping services. Additionally, Transnetyx provides all the necessary supplies (well plates, envelopes for shipping) and stores the samples for 6 months.
