I have used other Zombie Viability dyes in the past and here have Zombie Aqua to stain for the viability of my tumor cells. Using Zombie Aqua, I was able to determine what percentage of my tumor cells were viable following treatment.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Flow cytometry

Sample

Mouse tumor cell line

Primary Incubation

1:500 in PBS, 15-20 minutes at RT in the dark

Blocking Agent

None

Secondary Incubation

None

Tertiary Incubation

Detection

Flow cytometry

Results Summary

Zombie Aqua stained my non-viable cells, allowing me to determine which population on flow cytometry was my viable cell population. From there, I was able to phenotype my live population.

Summary

The Good

Reliably bright signal and fixable.

The Bad

Requires titration.

The Bottom Line

This is my choice of fluorescent dye to stain my cells for viability. While it requires titration like all antibodies, I am happy with the quality of signal it provides which is evident in my results.
