Thermo Fisher Scientific

Product Name:

GeneRuler 50 bp DNA Ladder

Catalog Number:

SM0371

The study aimed to identify the products of DNA restriction digestion, in agarose gel, which yields DNA fragments of 100 to 250 base pairs. With the help of GeneRuler a band of 100 bp DNA fragments was excised from agarose gel and eluted DNA was used for the downstream processing.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Agarose gel electrophoresis

Starting Material

Product of DNA restriction digestion

Tips

Use 5 microliter GeneRuler 50 bp DNA ladder for 5 mm agarose gel.

Results Summary

The GeneRuler 50 bp DNA ladder at right concentration i.e. 1 microliter ladder/ mm agarose gel gives very sharp, clean and bright bands of DNA ladder. The brightness of 250 and 500 bp bands are high as compared to other bp size.

Summary

The Good

Easy to use.

The Bad

At high concentration this ladder does not resolve properly.

The Bottom Line

I like this DNA ladder and using this I can identify DNA fragments of low base pair sizes.
