Hygromycin B is a water-soluble antibiotic purified from the bacterium Streptomyces hygroscopicus. Hygromycin B acts by binding to the 80S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibiting protein synthesis.

Resistance to Hygromycin B is conferred by the E. coli hygromycin resistance gene (hyg or hph). I use this on a lot of my cells.

I filter purify it before use and it works well. I also dilute based on the product data sheet advice.
